Entering a Negative Tare Value in a 355

The 'restrict' parameter (P440) must be disabled to allow a negative tare entry. Attempting to enter a negative tare with P440 enabled will result in a "tare error" message.

To enter a negative tare value, begin the entry by pressing [9] [PRINT]. This will display a minus '-' sign. Continue keying in the numeric value and press [ENTER] to accept the entry.

Entering a Negative Setpoint or Analog Output Value
To enter a negative setpoint or analog output value, begin the entry by pressing the [TARE] key. This will display a minus '-' sign. Continue keying in the numeric value and press [ENTER] to accept the entry.

Entering a Negative A/D Cal Value
To enter a negative A/D calibration value at P61110 - P61120, begin by pressing the first digit of the entry. Next, press the [PRINT] key to scroll the first digit until a minus '-' sign is displayed. Again, key in the first digit of the entry followed by the remaining digits. Press [ENTER] to accept the entry.

Firmware Revision Note
It is not possible to enter a negative A/D calibration value through the front panel keypad prior to firmware revision 133 dated 09/22/04 (see P60101 and P60102). Earlier firmware requires entry of negative values through the serial port.
